Triangle MLS will allow extended blocks for showings on Active listings until further notice

March 18, 2020
Due to the current marketplace environment, Triangle MLS and its leadership are taking active steps to protect the health and interests of all our Subscribers and their clients while still ensuring that business may continue throughout this time.
Sellers are finding themselves unable to vacate their homes for showings due to caring for their children, homeschooling, working from home, and fear of potential buyers spreading the Coronavirus while walking through their home.
Therefore, to keep listings visible to potential buyers, starting today, Triangle MLS will allow showings to be blocked on Active Listings past the current 48-hour time limit. For those who elect to take advantage of this, Triangle MLS requires disclosure of this in (Public) Remarks by adding “No Showings at this time”, “Showings are prohibited for now”, or something similar. Also, when a listing is unavailable for showings, don’t forget to update ShowingTime.
Please note that Days on Market always accrues for listings in the Active status.
We hope to return to normal business rules by the end of this month. We will continue to closely follow communications from the CDC and all levels of government health organizations, and we will notify you in advance when we restart the enforcement of the 48-hour time limit blocking showings.
For any questions, please email us at [email protected] or call us at 919-654-5419.
Thank you and stay healthy.
