How to Join TMLS – Partial Office Participation
Participation in the Triangle MLS is by firm only.

Are you a Participant of an MLS and also want to participate in Triangle MLS, Inc.?
 
The Principal of the firm, partnership, corporation, or branch office* must be in good standing as a member of any Board of REALTORS®, have a current valid North Carolina or Virginia real estate broker’s license and be capable of offering and accepting cooperation and compensation to and from other Participants or are licensed, certified, or trainees as designated by an appropriate state regulatory agency to engage in the appraisal of real property.
 
Partial Office Participation in Triangle MLS, Inc. is available to any brokerage firm that holds Primary Participation in another MLS within the jurisdiction of TMLS.  Primary Participation is defined as participation by a brokerage office in an MLS where it pays all usual and customary fees charged by that MLS without regard to their participation in any other MLS.  Affiliated licensees under the direct supervision of the Broker-in-Charge may subscribe.  Partial Office Participants shall have the same rights, duties, and obligations as offices that hold Primary Participation in Triangle MLS, Inc.
 
For your FIRM to participate in TMLS as a Partial Office Participant you must have completed the following training:
    1. TEMPO Training
      TEMPO classes are usually taught every Wednesday from 9:00am – 12:00pm.  Please call 919.654.5400 in advance to register.
    2. MLS ORIENTATION CLASS
      MLS Orientation training is usually offered the first and third Thursday of every month from 1:15pm – 3:00pm.  Please call 919.654.5400 in advance to register.
Please note: Both classes are held at 111 Realtors Way, Cary.
 
After you have completed the above, you will need the following:
    1. TMLS Partial Office Participation Application.  Complete the Partial Office Participation Application and bring it to the TMLS office along with the application fee and quarterly user fee (see Schedule of Fees below).  Fees may only be paid by credit card or check.  (Make the check payable to Triangle MLS, Inc.) 
    2. TMLS Participation Agreement. The TMLS Participation Agreement must be completed and turned in with the Application and all applicable fees. For more information on the Agreement review: TMLS Participation Agreement Explained and Frequently Asked Questions.
    3. Letter of Good Standing from the MLS and REALTOR® Association where applicant holds Primary Membership.
    4. Automatic Payment Form (optional).  Complete this authorization form to allow TMLS to bill your credit card to pay your quarterly TMLS bill.

*To qualify as a branch office, the office must have common ownership and firm name with a firm currently participating in Triangle MLS, Inc.
