Bob Carter
Named 2005 REALTOR® of the Year by the Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS®
Raleigh,
NC – Robert “Bob” Carter, of Carter Realty, was named
the 2005 REALTOR® of the Year on January 6, 2006. The prestigious award was
presented by, Mary Edna Williams of RE/Max Capital Realty, the recipient of
the 2004 award, on behalf of the membership of the Raleigh Regional Association
of REALTORS®, during the Association’s Inaugural Ball and Installation of
Officers, which was held at Carolina Country Club.
Bob has been a REALTOR® since 1971
and holds the Real Estate designations of GRI, CCIM, and CRB. He is also
a triple life member of RPAC and is a Charter Member of the Raleigh Regional
Association of REALTORS® Hall of Fame, a recipient of the North Carolina REALTOR’S®
Citizenship Award, and the Charles Lendt Award. Bob is a past president of
the Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS® and the Triangle Commercial
Association of REALTORS®. He was also Charter president of the North Carolina
CCIM chapter. He has served on the National Commercial Council for fourteen
years in addition to many other offices and committees on the local, state
and national levels. Bob has also been a member of the Raleigh Sales and
Marketing executives for 35 years and has also served as their director.
He is a proud member of the Genesis
United Methodist Church.
Bob has also given much of his time as a volunteer. Some of the organizations
that have benefited from his Volunteer efforts are:American Cancer Society,
Multiple Dystrophy Association, MS Society, North Carolina Symphony, United Way, President and other offices in the North Carolina Easter
Seals for 17 years, and the Duke Children’s Hospital for over 18 years. In
fact, he is the highest individual fundraiser for Duke Children’s Hospital
at over $200,000. Bob has also been Scout Master and Eagle Scout of Boy
Scouts of America as well as being awarded with the God and Country Award
and Order of the Arrow Award.
Bob graduated from Duke and is
a lifetime member of the Iron Dukes. He also was awarded the only Lifetime
Cougar Membership by Apex High
School for raising funds and overseeing the expansion of three sports fields.
Bob also served as chairman on
the Raleigh Mayor’s Committee for Persons of Disabilities achieving recognition
as the top city in North Carolina.
Bob was also Rookie of the year, officer of the year, and director of the
year for the Raleigh Jaycee’s
The REALTOR® of the Year Award
was initiated in 1955, and all recipients are named on the Bradshaw Cup, donated
by Charles W. Bradshaw of Raleigh, a long time leader in the real estate community.
The Award is given annually to a member of the Association who has demonstrated
a history of exemplary leadership within the real estate profession and community.
