Smith Named 2006
REALTOR® of Year by
Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS®
RALEIGH, N.C. (JANUARY 17, 2007)
– The Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS® (RRAR) named Tom Smith, manager
and broker-in-charge of Prudential Carolinas Realty’s Raleigh Glenwood office,
as its 2006 REALTOR™ of the Year at an event at the North Raleigh Country
Club on January 5. In addition, the RRAR installed officers and directors
for 2007 at the event.
“It’s an honor to have
my name mentioned next to Parker Creech, Diana Lambeth, Burks Crumpler and
Zack Bacon, who are past recipients of the award,” Smith said. “Not only
have they been champions for Prudential Carolinas Realty, they have been champions
for REALTORS statewide. This award belongs to everyone at our company, because
there a lots of Prudential REALTORS® who are just as deserving.”
In 2006, Governor Mike
Easley appointed Smith to the North Carolina Housing Partnership. In addition,
he serves on the North Carolina Association of REALTORS® (NCAR) Executive
Committee and is past president of the NCAR Housing Opportunity Foundation
(Homes4NC). He is past president of the Raleigh Regional Association of
REALTORS®.
Prior to becoming a manager at
Prudential Carolinas Realty earlier this year, Smith was a sales associate
for the company and a consistent member of the President’s Circle, an honor
signifying that he is a leading sales associate on a national basis. Smith
also was the recipient of Prudential Carolinas Realty’s 2001 Zack Bacon Award,
one of the highest honors offered by the company, and served as chair of Prudential
Carolinas Realty’s Triangle United Way campaign for several years.
He attended NC State University.
