N.C. existing home sales remain consistent
North Carolina existing home sales remained consistent in December with the
preceding months with an 18 percent decrease in percentage of units sold
compared to the previous year.
According to statistics
compiled by the North Carolina Association of REALTORS®, 8,247 units were
sold in December. Total sales dollars for the month were $1,793,479,674 and
the average existing home sales price was down 1 percent to $217,471 compared
to December 2006.
Once again,
Jacksonville and
Wilson posted the highest year-to-date sales growth with a 6 percent increase
followed by a 1 percent increase for Pinehurst.
Carteret
County experienced the state’s largest appreciation at 11 percent.
Jacksonville and
Asheville followed close behind with a 9 and 8 percent increase, respectively.
